Matthew will set the scene will set the scene, explaining TfN’s strategic approach to rail decarbonisation through electrification and rolling stock planning.
David Waters, Principal Policy and Strategy Officer, TfN
Building on Matthew’s introduction, David will explore how TfN develops evidence to support their strategic rail planning and their partners rail investment priorities, using recent work on the vulnerability of the North’s heavy rail infrastructure to climate-related hazards as a case study.
David Gray, Head of Energy and Environment, Northern Rail will share Northern Rail’s sustainability programme, focusing on energy use and environmental initiatives.
Robert Vaughan, SME Lead at the Department for Transport will brief members on the benefits of the new Procurement Act for SMEs and VSMEs. He will also cover the new Procurement Policy Note and the Central Digital Platform.
