In 2025, BCIMO’s Family Day in Celebration of Railway 200 will mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway, with its own family day charity event.
The doors will be open to visitors from across both the rail industry and enthusiast fraternity, and local and regional communities within Dudley and the broader Black Country.
In addition to showcasing the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre, the event will include stalls from local and sector-based businesses and organisations in the Exhibition Hall and Auditorium, entertainment inside and outside the building adjacent to the Rail Development & Test Site, plenty of options for food and drinks, and fairground rides. There will also be exclusive opportunities to try out the CVLR Transport Systems Simulator, and for Alumicart rides down the 2.2km Rail Test Track and through the curved 870m Tunnel! Plus more.
